Are you a male high school senior or a current college undergraduate who believes in developing both his mind and body as a way to live a complete life? Are you looking for a scholarship that recognizes your achievements inside and outside of the classroom?
The Tennessee Alpha Chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon (SigEp), the nation’s largest college Fraternity, is awarding three $1,000 Balanced Man Scholarships.
The Balanced Man Scholarship, funded by the Tennessee Alpha Scholarship Foundation, acknowledges male students who exhibit academic excellence, demonstrate leadership skills, and commit to their health and well-being. Our Scholarship foundation holds the largest group of donors out of every SigEp chapter, as well as the largest private foundation in all of Tennessee's greek life. The Ancient Greeks believed in developing a Sound Mind and a Sound Body as the way to live a fulfilling life. SigEp adopted this philosophy with the Balanced Man Ideal and since 1990 has awarded the Balanced Man Scholarship to some of the best students coming to campus.
We believe that recognizing students who exhibit balance and all-around excellence is one way to promote this important ideal. To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:
- Be an incoming freshman male, or be a male enrolled as a full-time student at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville during this Fall
- Have a 3.0 GPA
There’s no obligation to join or affiliate with SigEp when applying.
